There are few if any journeys of exploration and discovery more ideal for visualization through Google Earth Voyager than Franklin’s overland expeditions. The immense geographic details in the journals, coupled with the superb sketching abilities of not one, but two party members (George Back and Robert Hood) provides all the necessary materials to produce a beautiful flyover animation.
Thus far, the Franklin Illustrated Voyager Presentation hosts the artwork of George Back. In future iterations, Robert Hood’s small but considerable output will be included.
